Synopsis
Under the Snow Mountain Range lies Qyawan (Qijiawan Creek), located within Wuling Farm, on the border between Yilan County and Taichung City. Known for its protected area dedicated to conserving Taiwan's national treasure fish species, this place, however, holds few remaining memories of the coexistence between the Tayal people and the river.
Inspired by lantern slide photos taken in his youth by her grandfather Hayun Yubow, documentary filmmaker Sayun Simung from the Tayal - Sqoyaw Community rekindled a curiosity about this land. Through visits to elders, explorations of ancestral lands, and organizing a "3D Tribal Map" with her community, she has rediscovered the land and gained a fresh understanding of the lives and appearances of her people’s past, through the eyes of a younger generation.
